On September 30, 2004 the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Merck & Co. had voluntarily pulled Vioxx from the worldwide drug market. Vioxx is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for the reduction of pain caused by osteoarthritis. (read more)

Adderall was recently removed from the shelves in Canada. Canadian regulators ordered Adderall off the market because of reports that it has been linked to 20 sudden deaths and a dozen strokes, including some among children. (read more)

On April 10, 2006, Bausch & Lomb, Inc. announced that it was suspending U.S. shipments of ReNu® with MoistureLoc® produced at its Greenville, S.C., manufacturing facility in order to facilitate the further investigation of reports of fungal keratitis infections among contact lens wearers in the United States. Fosamax may cause you to lose teeth, suffer from rotting jawbones and deteriorate your jaw to the extent that bone is exposed. Fosamax is manufactured by Merck & Company, the same company that manufactured and then pulled, Vioxx from the market. (read more)
